The need for trained agricultural personnel led to the establishment of agricultural institutes all over India that would promote research and education in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied fields.The Legislature of the State of Orissa enacted the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology Act IN 1961. On 24th August, 1962, the University was born which was inaugurated by Prof. John K. Galbraith, the then U.S. Ambassador in India.B.Sc (Agriculture) , B.Sc & BVSc. BE/B.Tech, M.Sc (Agriculture) , M.Sc & ME/M.Tech are offered by the University.
